LayerX Monthly Report - March 2023

March was a busy month for us, with a lot of work and activities. As well as being the first month of LayerX, we had the pleasure of making history by organizing the first edition of ETHPorto!

ETHPorto 2023: A successful first edition.

With over 700 participants in attendance over the course of three days, both organizers and attendees were blown away by the event's success. The gathering was a significant milestone for Portugal's web3 community, which found a home in the beautiful city of Porto. We are confident that ETHPorto has established a solid foundation for years to come.

Throughout the event, attendees enjoyed a diverse range of activities, including engaging talks, networking sessions, and exciting side events. The hackathon was particularly intense, culminating in a spectacular closing ceremony at Casa da Musica.

The ETHPorto hackathon brought together some of the most brilliant minds in the blockchain community. Participants competed against one another to create innovative solutions and projects that not only had the potential to win prizes but also leave a lasting impact on the industry.

In addition to this, we also had a LayerX bounty, where participants built solutions on top of our products.

In a recent post at TAIKAI’s blog, we explored some of the top projects that emerged from the hackathon. The projects were nothing short of remarkable, with participants showcasing their ingenuity and creativity in developing solutions ranging from decentralized marketplaces to sustainable energy solutions.

The Portuguese Web3 Ecosystem powered by LayerX & Masterblox

Portugal's crypto industry is characterized by a diverse range of professionals, including bankers, analysts, lawyers, psychologists, and marketers. This supportive environment enables new blockchain companies to succeed based on their talent and effort.

In March, we partnered with Masterblox, a leading European blockchain accelerator and growth hacking agency, to conduct thorough research on Portugal's web3 ecosystem. To ensure the accuracy of our findings, we limited our scope to companies registered in Portugal or founded by at least one Portuguese individual.

While our research may not capture the full extent of the global Portuguese web3 ecosystem, our ecosystem map provides a glimpse of its remarkable growth, that we will keep updating in the upcoming months.

TAIKAI and XYZ joined forces!

At the beginning of March, we announced great news for all our hackathon friends!
TAIKAI partnered with Gen.xyz to provide free access to .xyz domains for every hackathon hosted on our platform.

This partnership empowers hackathon organizers to provide an additional resource to their participants, which they can use to improve the quality of their projects and presentations.

LayerX Quests ambassador program!

We've rebranded our ambassador program as the LayerX Quests and launched a Crew3 challenge to make it even more enticing for our community members. Participants eagerly competed for the chance to win amazing prizes, including over $500 in $BEPRO and 100 NFTs.

This is just the start of our commitment to creating engaging initiatives that empower our community to grow and flourish.

We had an insightful conversation with Cartesi during the Bepro Talks live Twitter Space on Wednesday, March 22nd. We discussed their ecosystem growth plans, the latest initiatives for developers, and their current hackathon and bounties program.

It was fascinating to learn about the various ways Cartesi is supporting its developers, such as providing educational content and offering substantial bounties for successful projects. We also heard about Cartesi's vision for the future and how they plan to continue expanding and improving their platform.

Algorand launched its first hackathon on the TAIKAI platform!

The Algorand Hyderabad Hackathon is for those attending the 2023 Algorand Hyderabad Hack House and building on Algorand. Registration opens during the event, but projects can be submitted for three weeks afterward.

Talks, workshops, and office hours with the Algorand developer relations team were available during the event in-person March 24-26.

ETHSamba Hackathon was a huge success!

The ETHSamba Hackathon in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil was a huge success, and we were proud to be the official platform sponsor. It was an unforgettable experience with inspiring talks, networking opportunities, and talented builders dedicated to developing innovative products during the hackathon.

We also had a LayerX Bounty, challenging hackers to develop products using our technology. In addition, our team member Derick Nina, served as a mentor, sharing his expertise with participants.

$BEPRO is now available at CoinEx!

At the end of March, we announced a new exchange that supports $BEPRO.

Through the token listing, CoinEx will allow us to push even further and introduce Bepro Network to new markets and individuals. Now you have more possibilities to buy, trade, and withdraw your $BEPRO!

Bepro Network’s v1 reward distribution is completed!

We are pleased to announce that the distribution of Bepro Network v1 rewards has been successfully completed! Over the past six months, we have been distributing $BEPRO tokens to v1 users on a monthly basis via the Moonbeam Network. The reward distribution formula took into account user activity on v1, such as staking and delegating $BEPRO, creating, disputing, and solving bounties.

As outlined in our roadmap, each user could earn a maximum of 2M $BEPRO tokens, and the maximum token distribution for all v1 users was set at 500M $BEPRO. If you have any questions about the reward distribution, our team is available to assist you on Telegram or Discord.

We are committed to continuing to work on our products to improve their usability even further, and we wouldn't be able to do it without your support.

In the coming months, TAIKAI will serve as the official platform for several ETH Hackathons worldwide, including ETHTaipei, ETHDAM, ETHBelgrade, ETHDublin, and more that we will announce soon! We also have exciting news and launches coming up on Bepro Network.
