LayerX Monthly Report - February 2023

After the incredible ending of January announcing the partnership with Polygon to build their own bounty network, February continues with exciting news for us. We achieved a couple of the most important milestones this year: TAIKAI’s v3 and LayerX release!

Let's dive into the highlights of the month:

TAIKAI Labs rebranded to LayerX

To better reflect our vision and mission of driving innovation and advancing the web3 ecosystem, we've decided to rebrand TAIKAI Labs to LayerX.

The goal of this rebrand is to provide clarity and simplicity for our clients and stakeholders and to maintain our focus on delivering specific added value for each of our targets.

Take a look at the full announcement on our new website!

TAIKAI v3 is live!

Our blockchain-powered hackathon platform just got even better! We’ve added new key features to transitioning into web3 effortlessly. Here’s everything you need to know about our platform’s v3 release:

Launching on Polygon

We’ve migrated TAIKAI dapp to Polygon’s Proof-of-Stake (POS) blockchain which brings several advantages such as scalability, lower costs, improved security and interoperability.

Proof of Participation NFT

The PoP will be a certificate used to verify an individual's accomplishments in a hackathon event. The NFT will also be available to users from past challenges.

This new version also includes other features: sign in with Ethereum, new voting systems, and a new platform design.

Here’s a deeper look into all the new features

Proof of Participation: new feature explained!

As we said previously, one of the key features we implemented in TAIKAI's v3 was Proof of Participation, or PoP for short.

In its essence, a PoP works like a digital certification badge, awarded to individuals who have participated in a hackathon event.
We are also allowing participants to mint NFTs from past hackathons through our Retroactive Minting feature!

Let's go over PoP, how it works, and how users and organizations can benefit from it!

Cartesi Hackathon has launched!
